Comments beyond "Consumed"

I read "Consumed:How Markets Corrupt Children,Infantilize Adults,And Shallow Citizens Whole" by Benjamin R. Barber, which is a critique of the dominant form of capitalism in the US.

The author does say that he has nothing against capitalism and that the current form of capitalism is actually a threat to the survival of capitalism.
Barber lists forms of market totalism(which he sees as bad)1/ubiquitous(it's everywhere)2/omnipresent(it's on all the time)3/addictive(it creates its own form of reinforcement)4/self-replicating(it spreads virally)and 5/omnilegitimate(it's self-justification to erode resistance).

I have no interest in saving any system except one that promotes a healthy person living in a healthy world.
I find capitalism or whatever one wants to call the dominant political-economy to be unhealthy.
Every living thing is given a sale value and the goal is to get the most wealth and power for yourself.
There is a different between a business, which offers product or a service and its owners are held responsible and a corporation, which uses state power to eliminate responsibility and its goal is profit.
There have been corporations that had no product or services and still made a profit from sale of their stock.
I am amazed and sad that some people promote a world where everyone is against everyone and there is no common good or even a belief in a society.
