Why I Hate Veteran"s Day

Veteran's Day began in my lifetime, thanks to President Nixon.
Since I have a dishonorable discharge, which states that I have an "anti-authoritarian personality disorder",those, who love "The Powers That Be",would refuse to call me a veteran.
"The Powers That Be" certainly don't want to honor someone who disobeyed orders, deserted post and frantenized with the enemy.
I was sent to Vietnam in 1967 by the US Marine Corp to the city of Hue.
I was sent back to "the states" by the USMC in 1968 to the "brig" at Camp Pendelton.
I was lucky to just get "bad paper" and not end up in Leavenworth.

I wrote a letter to the editor after an acquaintance, who had survived Vietnam as a member of the US Special forces, died from years of alcohol abuse or "self-medication" on the streets in Amerikkka.
I wrote a letter to the editor back then, which was rejected.

Here's the rejected letter: WHY I HATE VETERAN'S DAY

Another Veteran's Day has come and gone! A whole day of flag waving and "old" men trying to fit into "old" uniforms. I burnt mine on the day that I was released. To be associated with North,Westmoreland,Swartkopf, etc make me want to puke.

I prefer those who burnt flags and did everything and anything to end war. I prefer to honor deserters, draft dodgers and others who share my bad paper.
Clinton lost any respect when he didn't stand for his anti-war stance back when. He became another weasel like Limbaugh, who supported the war by being selectively handicapped.

War criminals like Nixon and Kissinger honored. Forgiveness for them. Never mention the corporations like Dow!
The history of the Vietnam War like all other history will be rewritten to fit corporate Amerikkkan ideals.
No wonder there's little true concern about homeless vets and vets in prison.Let them die! Let them rot!
Colin Powell will the Vietnam Veteran, corporate America will feed us.

I will find an "old" recording of Phil Ochs to celebrate my way.
